Marking two decades, Tui UK’s Holiday Villages reflect on the evolving needs of families seeking memorable vacation experiences.

    • Research reveals that families now take an average of three holidays per annum, with an increasing trend towards more frequent family holidays.
    • Essential elements for a perfect family getaway include water parks, breakfast buffets, and child-friendly food options.
    • A diverse array of dining choices and consistent entertainment remain pivotal for families, as indicated by recent surveys.
    • Feedback highlights the significance of comprehensive kids’ activities, reaffirming the Holiday Villages’ popularity.

Tui UK’s all-inclusive Holiday Villages have been a cornerstone for family vacations for two decades, cementing their place in the hearts of many. These resorts offer a diverse dining experience, including buffet and à la carte options, that cater to every palate. This summer marks their 20th anniversary, a testament to their enduring appeal.

Research conducted by Tui reveals that British families are embracing more frequent holidays, now averaging three trips a year. Almost half of the parents surveyed admit they take their children on more holidays than they themselves experienced in childhood. This shift indicates a growing emphasis on family time and creating lasting memories.

The survey identifies key components of an ideal family holiday. A water park ranks highly, with 42% of respondents considering it essential. Similarly, breakfast buffets and child-friendly food options are favoured by 41%, highlighting a shift towards convenience and enjoyment in family holiday planning.

Variety in dining continues to be a significant factor, with many families appreciating the range of restaurants available at Holiday Villages. The allure of unlimited ice cream, all-inclusive packages, and facilities like shallow pools for children enhance the appeal of these resorts, fulfilling both parental and children’s expectations.

Stephen Bracegirdle, head of retail at Tui UK & Ireland, states, “Holiday Villages remain one of the most popular choices amongst our customers. They have a very loyal following, stemming from the historic First Choice superstores. Customers frequently commend the excellent hotel standards and outstanding facilities for children, contributing to repeated patronage.”

Natalie Johnson, Tui Holiday Villages product manager, reflects on the past two decades, noting that while holidaying trends have evolved, the essence of a perfect family getaway remains unchanged. “Spending quality time together, free from everyday pressures, is paramount. Our research affirms that the successful formula comprises diverse dining and engaging children’s activities,” she observes.

Tui UK’s Holiday Villages highlight the lasting value of blending family-centric activities with comprehensive hospitality to maintain their leading position in family vacations.
