Hays Travel has relocated its branch in the Hampshire market town of Romsey to a larger, more modern premises. This move aims to better accommodate the growing customer base and enhance customer service.

The new branch, situated on a prominent corner site, is set to commence operations on Thursday, following staff relocation on Tuesday. The transition underscores Hays Travel’s commitment to expanding its footprint and improving service quality.

The high-performing Romsey branch reported significant growth, with nearly a third (30%) of its revenue in 2023 generated from new customers. This underscores the branch’s ability to attract and retain clientele in a competitive market.

Branch manager Natasha Elliott expressed excitement about the move, highlighting the benefits of the new location for both accessibility and visibility.

Retail director Jane Schumm explained the strategic importance of relocating to a larger premises. According to her, the previous branch couldn’t meet the needs of the store’s expanding customer base and operational demands.

Jane Schumm stated, “We have been holding out for a bigger and newer building to maximise the branch’s potential and create a more comfortable environment for colleagues.”

The new site provides ample space and modern amenities, expected to significantly enhance the customer experience. This move is seen as a crucial step in reinforcing Hays Travel’s presence in Romsey.

Natasha Elliott noted that maintaining the branch’s excellent service in a newer, bigger site would bolster community relations and foster more word-of-mouth recommendations.

She added, “Romsey is a town where a lot of people know each other, and alongside our marketing, word-of-mouth recommendations are our main source of exposure.”
