Matthew Smith has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Destination Asia, a comprehensive destination management company (DMC) specializing in East and Southern Asia based operations. He succeeds Monique Arnoux, after seven years of exceptional leadership. Matthew will commence in his new role on August 1st, 2024.

Matthew has been part of Destination Asia since his appointment in 2018, supporting the key sectors of meetings and events, tailormade travel, and cruise. With a forward-thinking approach, Matthew has helped strengthen Destination Asia’s footprint and has been pivotal in driving innovation and growth within the company.

Matthew Smith, CEO Destination Asia, commented: “I am honoured to lead a pioneering company like Destination Asia and to build upon our exceptional product offerings and industry-leading services provided to clients worldwide. I look forward to collaborating with our talented teams to shape the future and continue to exceed our clients’ expectations.”

Sebastien Doussin, Divisional Vice President, added: “Matthew brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as a regional general manager, and is highly respected in the industry. His extensive background in meetings, events, and DMC activities across various well-known travel businesses speaks for itself. Having worked with Matthew for several years, I’ve seen firsthand his talent for navigating our industry, inspiring our teams, and driving strategic vision and innovation.”

As Destination Asia embarks on this new chapter, the company extends its gratitude to Monique Arnoux for her outstanding leadership and dedication. Monique’s vision and efforts have laid a solid foundation for the company’s future success.

Destination Asia provides comprehensive travel services across nine countries in Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Laos. With 17 strategically located offices throughout these destinations, Destination Asia is led by seasoned travel industry professionals who are dedicated to delivering tailored travel experiences.
