    2025 Holiday Hotspots Revealed: Where Brits Plan to Escape Next Year

    • New research has revealed Thailand as the UK’s dreamiest holiday destination for 2025.
    • Canada and India are also named favourites for the new year.
    • Closer to home, London is the top city break among Brits—followed by Amsterdam, Edinburgh, and Paris. 

    A new study of Google data has revealed the top travel destinations for Britons, and where people are most likely to jet off to in 2025—with Thailand crowned top. 

    The research by vacation rental software RentalReady analysed Google Keyword Planner search data relating to flights, hotels, and package holidays to 180 popular destinations worldwide to find which are likely to be visited the most in 2025. This analysis revealed the top countries and cities Brits are most interested in holidaying next year, including each UK city’s top destination. 

    According to the findings, Thailand is the UK’s most popular holiday destination for 2025. The study revealed that there are, on average, 69,724 travel-related searches every month by Brits for the tropical haven—which equates to more than 2,000 searches every day.  

    Impressively, Thailand was also found to be the most popular destination in 64 UK cities, topping all other countries analysed. 

    Canada ranks second among Brits for trips in the new year. It was identified that there are 42,827 average monthly searches for flights, hotels, and holidays, for 2025. Not only known for skiing, and staggering natural beauty, cities such as Vancouver or Montreal mean the North American destination has something on offer for any holidaymaker. 

    Following in third is India, with an average monthly search volume of 41,622 travel-related searches by UK holidaymakers. Boasting wonders like the Taj Mahal, the Himalayas, and iconic cities like Delhi and Jaipur, offering lifetime memories for visitors.

    A firm favourite for culture and sunseekers, Turkey places fourth among Brits’ top holiday destinations for 2025. Popular for its stunning beaches and ancient landmarks, the analysis revealed an average monthly travel-related search volume of 40,530 in the UK for Turkey. 

    Spain rounds out the top five countries on UK travellers’ 2025 bucket lists. Spain was found to experience an average monthly search volume of 40,273 searches in the UK, relating to trips to the Mediterranean marvel, offering visitors sun, breathtaking architecture, rich culture, and culinary delights.  

    Other destinations span far and wide across the world with Japan, Jamaica, Mauritius and more, ranking among the most popular. While European countries also remain a top choice for UK holidaymakers with Portugal, Italy, Greece, and France, experiencing impressive popularity, too.

    When it comes to city breaks, the analysis revealed that Brits often stay closer to home—with London taking the top spot for travel-related searches. The findings identified the capital experiences an average of 305,928 searches every month for flights, hotels, and stays by Brits—around 10,000 per day. 

    Amsterdam, The Netherlands, places second, with an impressive 185,457 travel-related searches every month on average in the UK for breaks to the Dutch city.

    Third on the list is the Scottish capital, Edinburgh which was found to experience 166,645 searches by Brits every month relating to stays in the city. This is followed by the ‘City of Love’, Paris, France—with the study revealing an average monthly search volume of 145,040 by Brits ahead of 2025. 

    Barcelona, Spain, rounds out the top five city break destinations for Brits in the new year, with an average monthly travel-related search volume of 103,041 based on UK Google searches.  

    Other top destinations include European capitals such as Dublin, Rome, and Lisbon while for long-haul breaks, Dubai and New York City were revealed to be the top choices.
