Aberdeen International Airport has announced the launch of Grab service allowing passengers to pre-order food from airport bars and restaurants to takeaway ahead of their flights.

The Grab service is designed for passengers on the go and can be ordered via the airport website or the Grab app. With the takeaway service, passengers can order and pay for food and soft drinks for collection from landside outlets The Granite City and Joes Coffee House. After security, passengers can order from The Distilling House.

Steve Szalay, managing director Aberdeen International Airport said: ‘We’re always looking for new ways to provide our passengers with a greater choice as they pass through our upgraded terminal building.

‘The Grab service is perfect for our passengers who may not have time to sit down for a meal in one of our departure lounge food outlets. It gives passengers the freedom to spend more time in the terminal, whether than be preparing for an important meeting ahead of business travel, or spending time relaxing before their flight.’

Avi Robinson, Grab’s commercial director said: ‘We’re delighted to partner with Aberdeen International Airport and The Restaurant Group to add Aberdeen to our growing list of UK airports providing our Grab & Go pre-order service. The concept is all about convenience so we look forward to facilitating each customer’s journey through the airport, making it a little more fun and a little less stressful.’

The real-time Grab service enables passengers to place and pay for their order, when they will receive a confirmation and an alert when it is ready to be picked up. The app also gives an estimation of when food will be ready. Grab app can be downloaded at the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
