The first of the newly-launched Ryanair flights landed at Norwich Airport, UK, this morning, Eastern Daily Press has reported .

It was announced in December that the airline would be operating flights to Malta, Alicante and Faro, from Monday, April 1.

The first of the three flights due to land at the airport today also arrived slightly early. Flight FR5886 from Alicante was scheduled to arrive at 10.10am, but touched down at 10.05am.

Two more new flights from Malta and Faro are expected at 4.30pm and 5.15pm respectively. Journeys on all three routes will take place on Mondays and Fridays.

Vicky Samwell-Buckenham, manager at Norwich-based agency Oyster Travel, told the Eastern Daily Press in December that the flights will prove to be a benefit for the area.

She said: ‘People will be over the moon to hear they can fly to these destinations from Norwich Airport again. Our customers always love to fly from Norwich and will be happy to continue to support the airport going forward. It will be a happy return for those who remember being able to fly to Malta or Malaga with Flybe in the past.’
