Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the UK-based leisure airline and package holiday company, has announced two brand-new routes from Birmingham Airport for Summer 21 – Jersey and Amsterdam, in response to increased demand from customers.

Starting from May 22 to September 25, Jet2 will operate flights and holidays to Jersey from Birmingham Airport. The weekly services will operate every Saturday giving holidaymakers in the Midlands increased choice and flexibility to reach the largest of the Channel Islands next summer. With a range of 3- to 5-star accommodation available in resorts including Grouville, St Helier, St Brelade’s Bay, St Peter and St Aubin, customers can also arrange ATOL protected package holidays with the UK’s second largest tour operator, Jet2holidays.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also announced twice weekly services (Monday and Friday) to Amsterdam from Birmingham Airport from April 30 to October 31, offering an increased choice of flights to one of Europe’s most popular city break destinations for Summer 21.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘We are delighted to be launching two new routes to Jersey and Amsterdam from Birmingham Airport for Summer 21. With a host of flights departing from the base next summer in response to strong demand, there are lots of opportunities for customers in the Midlands to enjoy a holiday in Jersey or a city break in Amsterdam.’

Matt Thomas, CEO of Ports of Jersey, said: ‘We are thrilled to announce the significant growth with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in Summer 21. The addition of the five new routes, on top of our established programme from Leeds Bradford, makes our beautiful Island available to many more holidaymakers. We are delighted that we will be building an even closer partnership with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.’

Tom Screen, aviation director of Birmingham Airport said: ‘Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have once again created even more holiday choices for customers from the Midlands. With the addition of these new destinations to Jersey and Amsterdam for Summer 2021, these routes complement the 56 routes that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays operate to European destinations direct from Birmingham Airport.’

With the addition of Jersey and Amsterdam, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has over 50 destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands on sale from Birmingham Airport for Summer 21. Giving customers more assurance, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also launched a 5* Defaqto rated insurance product, which includes added Covid-19 cover for cancellations and medical claims abroad, as well as cover for travel to destinations where the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises against all but essential travel’ as a result of Covid-19.
