Ryanair, an Irish low-fares airline, has announced the launch of its biggest ever summer schedule for 2017 at Birmingham Airport, with three new routes to Chania, Girona and Reus, two new summer services to Sofia and Warsaw, and more flights to Faro, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Palma and Tenerife.

The announcements comes after the airline announced its 2017 summer schedules at Leeds Bradford Airport and Newcastle Airport, including new routes and more flights to several of its most sought after summer destinations.

Ryanair’s Birmingham summer 2017 schedule will deliver three new routes including a thrice weekly service to Girona and twice weekly services to Chania and Reus. The airline will also offer two new summer services to Sofia (thrice weekly) and Warsaw (thrice weekly). In addition, Ryanair has added more flights to Faro (daily), Ibiza (six weekly), Gran Canaria (thrice weekly), Palma (11 weekly) and Tenerife (four weekly). Ryanair’s Birmingham summer 2017 schedule will operate 28 routes in total, with 141 weekly flights, which will deliver almost 2.3m customers p.a. and support 1,700 jobs at Birmingham Airport.

Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs, said: ‘We are pleased to launch our biggest ever Birmingham summer 2017 schedule, 3 months earlier than last year, which includes 3 new routes to Chania, Girona and Reus, the continuation of our winter services to Sofia and Warsaw to summer, and more flights to Faro, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Palma and Tenerife, which will deliver almost 2.3m customers p.a. and support 1,700 jobs at Birmingham Airport, as we grow our operation by 20 percent.

William Pearson, Aviation Director, Birmingham Airport, said: ‘We are delighted that Ryanair has launched its summer 2017 schedule even earlier this year, giving passengers travelling from Birmingham Airport more choice on a total of 28 routes. With three new routes now available for booking, Chania, Girona and Reus, passengers have more destinations than ever to choose from when planning their 2017 summer holiday.’

Ryanair customers can now choose from 28 Birmingham routes in summer 2017. They will also benefit from Ryanair’s ‘Always Getting Better’ programme, which includes more new routes, new digital features, new cabin interiors and even more low fares, the airline said.
