Holiday specialist Super Break has launched a new programme of exclusive breaks from Norwich Airport to Akureyri, North Iceland – a new holiday destination for UK travellers.

The only operator in the UK to fly direct to North Iceland, Super Break has previously offered its ‘Incredible North Iceland’ breaks from other airports. The new programme of getaways to Northern Iceland will include a service from Norwich International Airport on February 7, 2020 offering holidaymakers from the East Anglia exclusive three-night experiences on the north coast of Iceland. Holidays are now available to book with an initial deposit of £49 per person. The prices start from £699 per person.

The new breaks all include exclusive regional flights direct to Akureyri, a three-night hotel stay and two excursions – including a search for the Northern Lights and visit to the Game of Thrones filming locations. All trips include a Lake Myvatn Adventure – the Land of Fire and Ice Tour covering the Goddafoss Waterfall and the boiling mud pools of Namafjall. In addition, holidaymakers can choose from a range of unique experiences to add to their trip including Myvatn Nature Baths with a visit to the ‘Blue Lagoon of the North;’ whale watching at Eeyjafjorour; the snowmobiling experience and the Bjorbodin spa and relax in a private room equipped with a beer bath and beer tap.

Richard Pace, managing director of Norwich Airport, said: ‘North Iceland is a place of dramatic contrasts, from snow-capped mountains and glaciers to rugged lava fields and thermal spas. We are delighted that Super Break is once again offering such an exciting package from Norwich, giving passengers such an exclusive opportunity from their local airport.’

Chris Hagan, director of Product Supply from Super Break commented: ‘We’re delighted to announce our new programme of breaks to this stunning part of Northern Iceland. Akureyri is a truly magical location for a short break and the unique location, diverse choice of activities available and the local hospitality have all been so popular with our customers. We are looking forward to offering more UK customers the chance to experience this trip of a lifetime next winter.’

Flying with Titan Airways, which previously operated the 2018/19 programme, all breaks are ATOL-protected and include transfers, hold bags, and two pre-booked excursions – as well as flights from their local airport, Norwich Airport said in a release.
