Jonathan Davies has been appointed as the new head of sales for Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours and Emerald Cruises.

This significant promotion marks a strategic shift in the organisational structure, focusing on enhancing key agent relationships and expanding training programmes.

Davies’ promotion signals a strategic restructuring within the sales team. Account managers are now geared towards reinforcing key agent relationships across the UK rather than focusing on geographic areas. This shift ensures a consistent point of contact and aims to enhance relationships with strategic accounts.

This reorganisation aims to streamline communication and support for agents, potentially boosting overall efficiency. With Davies at the helm, the focus will be on providing targeted support and comprehensive offers to travel agents and tour operators.

Further investment is set to bolster the team with an expanded training programme and new recruits expected ahead of 2025.

This investment underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its market position by equipping its sales force with enhanced skills and resources.

Jonathan Davies will manage a four-member, on-the-road sales team, reinforcing strategic goals with national key account manager Wendi Hardy and sales managers Lewis Quigley, William Young, and Danny Joel.

His management is expected to drive cohesive efforts across the sales team, focusing on strategic growth and partnership.

Reporting directly to Nick Hughes, the sales partnerships and strategic growth director, Davies’ role is pivotal in driving growth with strategic agent partners.

His deep understanding of the market and strong commercial acumen are valuable in cementing these relationships.

Nick Hughes remarked on Davies’ promotion, expressing confidence in his leadership and contributions to the company’s strategic vision.

He noted that strengthening trade partnerships reflects the company’s pursuit of industry-leading sales support and training for travel agents.

Davies’ appointment is a move towards a more dedicated support framework for agents, ensuring they receive unparalleled support and resources.

The aim is to maintain industry leadership in sales and agent support, delivering comprehensive solutions.

The outlook for Scenic and Emerald under Davies’ leadership appears optimistic, with plans to further entrench their market position.

With strategic enhancements and leadership focus, the company is poised for sustained growth.

Jonathan Davies’ appointment as head of sales signifies a proactive approach to strengthening trade relationships. The strategic focus on training, recruitment, and partnership reaffirms Scenic and Emerald’s commitment to market excellence.
