Holland America Line has confirmed the Nieuw Statendam’s return to Dover for the summer 2026 season, planning ten departures as part of its European deployment. This ship will offer ex-UK departures between April and October, providing travellers with varied cruise options to destinations like the Canary Islands, the British Isles, the Arctic Circle, and the Norwegian fjords.
Prices for these journeys begin at £1,949 per person for a 14-day cruise to the Canary Islands. This programme also introduces an increased variety of seven-day cruises, particularly to the fjords, alongside journeys between Reykjavik and Rotterdam.
A new feature of the northern Europe season includes four new ports: Aberdeen and Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, Odda in Norway, and Kalundborg in Denmark. This expanded itinerary is designed to attract a broad range of travellers seeking novel experiences.
To cater to diverse preferences, the Nieuw Statendam will provide numerous itineraries such as the 14-day ‘Baltic and Scandinavian Capitals’ cruise, with overnight stays or late-night port calls in Oslo, and visits to countries including Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Denmark.
The plans also encompass extensive Mediterranean routes. The Oosterdam will offer trips ranging from seven to 14 days from locations such as Lisbon and Rome, while the Zuiderdam will embark on a significant ‘Voyage of the Vikings: Solar Eclipse’ from Boston, showcasing extensive routes through Iceland and the Netherlands.
Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Revenue Planning and Deployment, stated: “We’ve crafted itineraries based on guest feedback, including highly requested ports like Bari and Portofino in Italy.“ The strategy notably involves revisiting ports such as St Tropez after a 15-year hiatus.
Holland America Line’s 2026 programme highlights its commitment to providing diverse and enriching cruising experiences across Europe.
