Latin Routes, a specialist tour operator focused on Latin America, has announced unprecedented sales growth in February. The primary destinations fueling this surge were Peru, Chile, and Argentina, with sales exceeding 100% growth compared to the previous year. This performance reflects a significant rise in consumer interest, particularly for Peru, which saw a dramatic 170% increase in bookings.
Despite recent media coverage regarding political events in the region, such as Ecuador’s state of emergency, consumer interest hasn’t waned. The demand for travel to Chile also increased by over 90%, showcasing its sustained popularity. Argentina’s sales rose by more than 30%, contributing to the operator’s exceptional month.
Latin Routes also noted a significant trend towards off-the-beaten-track destinations, with Uruguay and Guyana becoming increasingly popular. Additionally, there is a rising interest in multi-country holidays, indicating travellers’ desire for extended and diversified travel experiences.
Senior product manager Cat Davies attributed this success to the trust placed by customers in the company and the dedication of its staff. She highlighted the collaboration with key partners, saying, “This growth is also a result of the support we receive from our key partners, including campaigns with the Chilean, Brazilian, and regional Argentinian tourist boards.”
Director and co-founder Martin Johnson expressed gratitude towards the team and partners, stating, “A huge thank you to our incredible team, for such an amazing month of sales, and of course a massive thank you to our trade partners for your continued support in driving growth to Latin America.” The strong performance in February followed a successful January, which also saw sales growth exceeding 50% year-on-year, particularly in Peru, Chile, and Brazil.
The record-breaking sales in February underscore Latin Routes’ strategic positioning and adaptability in meeting diverse consumer demands.
