EasyJet is set to launch a new year-round route from Liverpool to Malta, starting this December. This new service will operate twice weekly, with flights available for booking beginning June 11th.

This expansion comes as part of easyJet’s broader efforts to grow its Malta programme and enhance connectivity for passengers in the northwest. The new route marks the fourth addition to easyJet’s Liverpool network within the past year.

    New Route Announcement

In an exciting development, easyJet has unveiled a new route connecting Liverpool to Malta, starting this December. This route expands easyJet’s already impressive Malta programme. Flights are scheduled to operate all year round, with departures every Tuesday and Sunday beginning on December 10th.

Passengers can start booking their flights and holiday packages from June 11th. The new connection to Malta is the fourth addition to easyJet’s Liverpool network over the past year. Previously, the airline introduced services to Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt, and Corfu in Greece.

    Holiday Packages

easyJet holidays are set to offer a range of package holidays to Malta, showcasing a mixture of all-inclusive resorts. Among the featured accommodations is the four-star db San Antonio Hotel and Spa, ideal for families seeking a comprehensive holiday experience.

Another prominent option is the adults-only four-star Seaview Hotel situated in St Pauls Bay. These varied offerings aim to cater to different holiday preferences, from family-friendly escapes to relaxed adult-only retreats.

    Statements from Key Stakeholders

Ali Gayward, the UK and Malta country manager for easyJet, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are delighted to be announcing another new route from Liverpool.” She highlighted that this new route provides customers in the northwest with greater choice and enhanced connectivity to some of Europe’s best holiday destinations.

Gayward also emphasised easyJet’s commitment to promoting Malta, stating: “Our continued growth and strong relationship with the Malta Tourism Authority has enabled us to invest in helping to promote the island.”

Paul Winfield, aviation director for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, echoed this excitement. He said, “We are delighted to welcome this new service to Malta with easyJet – a destination that we know is popular with holidaymakers from across the Liverpool city region and beyond.”

    Market Potential

Winfield underscored the market potential of the new route, noting that currently only 9% of flights to Malta from the northwest are served from Liverpool. This represents a significant opportunity for growth in the region.

easyJet has maintained a strong presence at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with seven aircraft based there. The airline serves approximately two million passengers annually, flying to 27 destinations.

This strategic expansion not only enhances easyJet’s network but also boosts Liverpool’s connectivity to other major holiday spots across Europe.

    Booking and Pricing

Tickets and holiday packages for the new route to Malta will be available for booking starting June 11th. Travellers can expect competitive pricing, given easyJet’s reputation for affordability and value.

The airline encourages potential travellers to secure their bookings early, as demand is anticipated to be high for this new route to a popular destination like Malta.

In addition to the new Malta route, easyJet’s comprehensive network from Liverpool offers a variety of options for passengers seeking holiday destinations, reinforcing the airport’s role as a key travel hub for the region.

    Customer Experience

Travellers can look forward to a seamless booking experience through easyJet’s platform, which integrates flight and holiday package options.

easyJet continues to focus on customer satisfaction, providing flexible booking policies and robust customer support to address any concerns or changes in travel plans.

The addition of these new services is expected to enhance customer choice and convenience, reinforcing easyJet’s position as a leading airline in the European market.

    Future Prospects

The new Liverpool to Malta route is a testament to easyJet’s ongoing commitment to expanding its flight network and enhancing connectivity for its customers.

This new service is anticipated to stimulate economic activity by attracting more tourists to Malta and supporting the local tourism industry.

easyJet’s strategic growth plans, coupled with its strong partnerships with regional airports and tourism authorities, position the airline for continued success in the competitive airline market.

With the introduction of this new route, easyJet continues to strengthen its network and provide greater holiday options for passengers in the northwest.

The collaboration with Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the Malta Tourism Authority underscores easyJet’s commitment to offering diverse and accessible travel experiences.
