Budget airline easyJet has announced the commencement of new services from City of Derry Airport starting 4th November.

The new routes will connect Northern Ireland with Edinburgh and Liverpool, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

easyJet’s new services from City of Derry Airport are set to improve connectivity between Northern Ireland and major UK cities. The routes to Edinburgh and Liverpool will operate twice weekly, offering enhanced travel options for both business and leisure passengers. These additions aim to cater to the growing demand for convenient and flexible travel solutions.

Furthermore, the availability of flights on Mondays and Fridays is particularly advantageous for business travellers, while also providing weekend options for leisure travellers.

Brenda Morgan, Head of Business Development at City of Derry Airport, also emphasised the importance of these routes for both corporate and leisure travellers in the northwest.

easyJet currently bases seven aircraft at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, enabling 340 flights per week to 27 destinations.

EasyJet’s expansion aligns with the city’s efforts to develop and promote local tourism, potentially bringing in a steady stream of visitors year-round.

This strategic partnership could also encourage other airlines to consider the airport for expansion, fostering a more competitive and diverse aviation market in Northern Ireland.

Overall, the new routes promise to enhance the travel experience, making City of Derry Airport a more attractive option for both frequent and occasional travellers.

The launch of easyJet’s services from City of Derry Airport marks a significant milestone in improving connectivity and economic growth for Northern Ireland.
