The upcoming Thai Travel Mart Plus 2024 places a significant emphasis on sustainable tourism.

Scheduled from June 5-7 at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa, the event is set to gather over 950 global participants.

The Thai Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) 2024 is poised to be a premier B2B travel industry showcase. It will take place at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa in Thailand’s scenic Phang-nga province. Registration begins on 9th February, with over 420 buyers from 50 nations, highlighting its global appeal.

Participants from Europe, ASEAN, East Asia, North America, and Australia, as well as emerging markets like Eastern Europe, Middle East, South America, and South Africa, are expected. This global representation underscores the event’s broad market reach and influence.

Central to the 2024 edition is sustainability. The event will highlight sustainable tourism products and meaningful travel experiences. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) offers discounts to Thai sellers prioritising sustainable operations, encouraging eco-friendly business practices.

‘TAT will exert every effort to ensure that the TTM+ 2024 yields substantial results for all participants as well as the host destination and local tourism industry partners,’ stated Siripakorn Cheawsamoot of TAT.

Beyond exhibitions, the event is a platform for reinforcing existing business connections and forming new partnerships.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted the event’s focus on transforming Thai tourism toward high-value, sustainable models, aiming to foster approximately 15,000 business meetings and generate over 2 billion baht.

Pre-tours showcasing the natural and cultural treasures of Phang-nga, an hour’s drive from Phuket, will emphasise wellness, soft adventure, and sustainability themes.

Since 2001, TTM+ has adapted to growing trends in the tourism sector. Typically hosted in Bangkok, its mobility reflects its response to industry dynamics.

Recent host cities have included Chiang Mai, Pattaya, and Phuket, each adding a unique flavour to the event’s development.

These changes illustrate a strategic geographic shift to highlight Thailand’s diverse destinations and capabilities.

The 2024 edition promises a substantial economic impact by facilitating numerous business appointments.

Attendees are anticipated to build substantial economic collaborations, furthering the sustainable and high-value tourism goals.

The strategic focus on sustainability is expected to resonate with global participants, enhancing Thailand’s image as a responsible tourism destination.

Special pre-tour programmes are planned, offering insights into the local culture and sustainable practices in Phang-nga.

These tours will spotlight wellness and adventure activities, showcasing Thailand’s commitment to integrating tourism and sustainability.

Post-event tours will provide additional exposure to what Thailand’s regions have to offer, enriching participants’ experience.

As the event approaches, organisers are finalising preparations to ensure a successful and impactful conference.

Efforts are underway to ensure the seamless execution of the event, aiming to align with its sustainability objectives.

Thai Travel Mart Plus 2024 stands as a beacon for sustainability in tourism, promoting eco-friendly practices across the sector.

This event not only bolsters tourism but fosters international cooperation towards sustainable development.
