Lufthansa, Germany’s national airline, has announced a series of exclusive flights from London Stansted to Munich, specifically for the annual Oktoberfest.

Travellers from the region now have the opportunity to join the renowned German beer festival, as Lufthansa is offering 11 flights during the festival period. The flights are scheduled to operate from September 15 to October 1, and early bookings can secure return fares as low as GBP124. Tickets are available to book at Lufthansa.com.

Departing from London Stansted at 7.55pm, the airline says that flights will arrive in Munich at 10.45pm, allowing passengers to conveniently experience the festivities.

Simon Gorrighan, aviation director at London Stansted, said: ‘People from London and the East of England can now jet out from their local airport to enjoy a unique and memorable Oktoberfest experience. There is no doubt these flights will be extremely popular, so I would suggest booking in advance in order to get the best fares.’

With over six million attendees each year, Oktoberfest is one of the largest public festivals in the world. Since its inception in 1810, the event has traditionally commenced with the ceremonial opening of beer tapping and a parade featuring traditional costumes.

The airline says that this year’s Oktoberfest will take place from September 16 to October 3, offering visitors an immersive experience of Bavarian culture, including traditional cuisine, live music performances, and the opportunity to savour the renowned local beers.

Heinrich Lange, senior director Sales Northern Europe Lufthansa Airlines, added: ‘Oktoberfest in Munich enjoys popularity worldwide, especially in Great Britain. Visitors from the United Kingdom are among the top nationalities at this festival. Lufthansa is responding to this local demand by offering special nonstop flights to reach the Bavarian capital quickly and easily. The departure from London Stansted is particularly interesting for all Oktoberfest fans travelling from the East of England and North London.’
