AmaWaterways is set to expand its fleet with two new river ships, AmaSofia and AmaKaia, launching in 2026.

These additions are poised to enhance the company’s offerings on the Rhine and Mekong rivers, promising unforgettable experiences for travellers.

AmaSofia will be the latest addition to AmaWaterways’ European fleet, making its debut on 24 May 2026. This river cruise ship will embark on the Magnificent Europe itinerary, a 14-night journey from Amsterdam to Budapest. The itinerary features guided bike rides, castle tours, and visits to historic cities, providing an immersive cultural experience.

AmaWaterways has enriched the itinerary with unique experiences such as pretzel baking and cycling tours. These activities cater to a range of interests, ensuring each guest finds something to delight in. Such special touches elevate the overall travel experience.

Travellers will also participate in a Buddhist Blessing Ceremony, fostering a deeper cultural understanding. With 22 departures scheduled in 2026 and plans to increase this number in subsequent years, AmaKaia promises a rich experience.

Feedback from agents played a pivotal role in this decision. The new flight-inclusive packages are expected to boost customer satisfaction and drive higher bookings. This move underscores AmaWaterways’ commitment to continuous improvement and customer-centric service.

The Rhine and Mekong offerings are designed to meet diverse traveller preferences. AmaWaterways’ focus on culturally rich and immersive itineraries is expected to attract a wide range of customers.

Customer anticipation is high, as AmaWaterways maintains a reputation for exceptional service and innovative itineraries. The addition of AmaSofia and AmaKaia is seen as a positive development, likely to excite both loyal clients and new customers.
