CLIA Introduces New Resources for Cruise Sales Agents

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) UK and Ireland has launched a dedicated online resource section tailored for agents newly entering the cruise sales industry. This initiative is expected to empower these agents with essential knowledge.

This new section is designed as an educational toolkit offering a comprehensive overview of cruise sales fundamentals. With a focus on accessibility and interaction, these resources aim to make it easier for new agents to understand various aspects of the industry.

CLIA’s newly launched section is structured as a ‘mini-library’ consisting of 12 key topics crucial for understanding cruise sales. Each topic is presented through succinct videos and practical how-to guides, ensuring accessibility and engagement. These resources cover important areas such as cruise line brands, onboard activities, destinations, ports, promotions, and pricing strategies. Agents can leverage these modules to enhance their knowledge and sales techniques.

Additionally, a forthcoming optional quiz will soon be available, allowing agents to earn a digital certificate upon completion. These tools are crafted to cater to the diverse learning styles of agents, enabling them to absorb information at their own pace.

Harmer added, “We’ve adopted a more interactive, informal approach with the online tools, allowing agents to boost their knowledge through preferred learning styles and chosen topics.”

This collaborative effort underscores the collective aim to support new agents in mastering the intricacies of the cruise industry.

Harmer mentioned that the current surge in demand is an opportune moment for agents to utilise these new tools effectively.

By participating in these activities, agents can gain deeper insights into specialised areas and stay updated with industry trends.

The introduction of these online tools marks just the beginning of a series of ongoing developments aimed at enhancing agent expertise and confidence.

The CLIA’s proactive initiative in launching this educational section is a timely response to the burgeoning interest in cruises. This comprehensive support framework is poised to equip new agents with essential insights and skills, fostering their success in the dynamic cruise industry.
