MSC Cruises celebrated the christening of its latest vessel, MSC Euribia, in a spectacular event held in Copenhagen.

Sophia Loren, revered Italian actress, ceremoniously named the ship, marking her 19th such endeavour with MSC, amidst a gathering recognizing the vessel’s net-zero journey.

The much-anticipated christening of MSC Cruises’ newest ship, the MSC Euribia, was a grand affair in Copenhagen. Presented in the city known for its rich maritime history, the event highlighted MSC’s commitment to sustainability.

The naming ceremony was an extravagant affair hosted by Danish TV presenter Sarah Grünewald. Sophia Loren, a frequent godmother for MSC, performed the naming honors for her 19th ship. The event also featured performances by Tony Hadley and DJ Bob Sinclar, captivating the 945-seat Delphi Theatre.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, emphasized that Euribia embodies sophistication and innovation. Further, this ship is equipped with advanced waste management systems, aligning with MSC’s sustainable policies.

From October 2023, the vessel will extend its voyages to Southampton, responding to the rising demand for no-fly cruises. This follows the success of MSC Virtuosa in the UK market.

Industry experts are keenly observing MSC’s latest launch as the company strengthens its position within the burgeoning sustainable cruising market.

The choice of Copenhagen for the launch underscores MSC’s alignment with cities investing in sustainable and maritime advancements. Loren’s involvement as godmother reaffirms a longstanding partnership celebrating luxury and environmental consciousness.

With its superior design and sustainable initiatives, MSC Euribia is poised to redefine cruise experiences.
