The Star Princess, Princess Cruises’ second Sphere class ship, has been successfully floated out at an Italian shipyard. This significant milestone marks the beginning of its journey towards completion.

The Star Princess, the second Sphere class ship for Princess Cruises, was recently floated out at an Italian shipyard. This marks its inaugural introduction to water as construction advances toward completion. Boasting a capacity of 4,300 passengers, the Star Princess is a marvel of modern engineering. The ship is scheduled to join the fleet in autumn 2025, showcasing state-of-the-art facilities while adhering to sustainable practices.

At the core of Star Princess is cutting-edge technology. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) powers this magnificent vessel, underscoring Princess Cruises’ commitment to environmentally friendly travel. This technology reduces emissions significantly compared to traditional fuels. The ship’s design is not just about luxury; it embodies a forward-thinking approach that prioritises both passenger experience and ecological responsibility.

The float out ceremony was graced by Chiara del Vecchio, the third engineer from Sun Princess, who played the role of madrina. This marks a historic moment as she is the first member of the line’s technical team to be given this honour. Princess Cruises President John Padgett remarked on the teamwork and dedication involved. He praised Fincantieri, the builders, for turning a vision into reality, stating that such collaboration is key to delivering unforgettable experiences.

These Sphere class ships are a testament to the evolving standards in the cruise industry, where elegance meets efficiency. The focus on sustainable technologies, coupled with luxurious interiors, positions them as frontrunners in modern sea travel.

The partnership with Fincantieri is pivotal in this endeavour, with their legacy of shipbuilding excellence playing a crucial role. The meticulous planning and execution are reflective of Fincantieri’s reputation in the maritime industry.

Star Princess symbolizes the next chapter in cruise travel, merging avant-garde design with sustainable navigation. It’s not just about reaching destinations; it’s about the journey itself.

Modern cruisers expect more than just travel; they seek experiences that are both exquisite and responsible. The introduction of LNG-powered ships represents a transformative step forward. The Star Princess is poised to lead by example in this new era of cruising.

The culmination of craftsmanship, modern design, and sustainable technology makes the Star Princess a standout in the realm of maritime travel. This ship is set to deliver not just a journey, but a complete experience that embodies the future of cruising. As anticipation mounts for its debut in 2025, it’s clear that the Star Princess will set new standards in the industry.

With its anticipated debut in 2025, the Star Princess is set to revolutionise cruise travel. This ship promises unparalleled experiences through its innovative design and commitment to sustainability.
