In an exciting development for cruise enthusiasts, Windstar Cruises is set to significantly expand its European offerings in 2026. The small-ship cruise line will introduce 15 innovative itineraries, enhancing its commitment to intimate and immersive travel experiences.

Windstar’s new itinerary plans emphasise unique destinations and extended stays, reflecting the company’s dedication to deepening passengers’ travel experiences. With overnight stays and late departures, travellers are offered a more leisurely and enriched way of exploring Europe’s diverse landscapes and cultures.

Windstar Cruises has announced an ambitious expansion of its European itineraries for 2026, introducing 15 new cruise routes. The company aims to enhance its presence in Europe by offering voyages to 34 new ports, including an unusual solar eclipse sailing around Iceland scheduled for August 2026.

In a move to attract adventure-seeking travellers, Windstar is launching the Grand Europe Adventure. This 81-day cruise begins in Helsinki on 14 July 2026, covering 20 countries. Passengers will have the chance to explore 67 ports of call, ultimately concluding their journey in Athens. Such extensive coverage is expected to appeal to those eager to explore Europe comprehensively.

Windstar is introducing several new features in its extended itineraries. Passengers can now enjoy up to four days in a single destination, combined with late-night departures. This approach aims to provide a more immersive travel experience, allowing for deeper exploration of each location.

Among the new offerings are cruise tours originating in Madrid, a complete circumnavigation of Ireland, a cruise around the Aeolian Islands, and exploration of northern Greece. These itineraries are crafted to deliver unique local experiences, helping travellers engage with the rich cultural fabric of each region in a meaningful way. Windstar’s approach focuses on smaller, more intimate destinations, creating a bespoke travel experience.

To incentivise early bookings, Windstar offers a complimentary all-inclusive experience for reservations made by 31 October. This package includes Wi-Fi, unlimited wine, beer, cocktails, gratuities, and a $100 onboard credit per cabin. Valued at £73 per person per day, such incentives are expected to attract forward-planning passengers keen to secure exceptional value.

Jess Peterson, itinerary planner, highlighted Windstar’s dedication to regional exploration, stating that their cruises feature more small-ship only destinations than ever before. The focus on off-the-beaten-path experiences is designed to give travellers genuine insights into Europe’s hidden gems. Peterson said, “Our year-round cruises in the Mediterranean and Europe have more small-ship only destinations than ever before.”

Windstar Cruises’ expansion of its European itineraries signals a strategic move to cement its position in the competitive cruise market. By introducing new routes and unique travel experiences, the company aims to cater to a diverse audience seeking enriched travel adventures in Europe in 2026.

Windstar’s expansion in European itineraries not only broadens travel options but also reaffirms its reputation for quality and unique cruise experiences. This strategic initiative is expected to appeal to discerning travellers seeking authentic and comprehensive exploration of Europe’s hidden treasures.
