Glasgow Airport, in Scotland, is providing passengers with a guide to its 2012 winter schedule.

The new handy, pocket size, comprehensive winter 2012 flight guide is designed to ensure that travellers have the latest information at their fingertips. The guide focuses on all types of flights to various holiday destinations, and is claimed to be ideal for city breaks, adventure trips, skiing holidays or business travel. The book also offers information on parking options, shopping outlets, eating venues and the relaxation options that are available at the airport.

Francois Bourienne, the commercial director at Glasgow Airport, said, ‘We have worked hard to strengthen our route network this year and it really is encouraging to see a number of our airline partners add a host of new routes and services.

Passengers travelling from Glasgow Airport can choose from a fantastic range of domestic, European and long-haul scheduled flights this winter, and with regular flights to a range of popular sun destinations we have all the bases covered when it comes to package holidays.

Over the course of the past two years we have committed significant investment to improving our facilities for passengers. In addition to adding top fashion brands such as Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger to our retail portfolio, we have refurbished our departures lounge and added two new bars both of which have fabulous views of the airfield and runway.’

In 2011, the airport invested around £12 million to develop facilities, and it is investing around £9 million in airside developments and airport enhancements for 2012.

Previously, the airport achieved a Gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) at the Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012, which has recognised the airport’s initiatives for health, safety and accident prevention; health improvement activities; and its ‘safety first’ initiatives.
