The UK-based leisure airline Jet2.com is set to operate its first ski programme from Stansted Airport his winter, according to an online report.
The airline will operate up to 11 flights a week from Stansted to four ski destinations this winter. The schedule includes up to five weekly flights to Geneva, two weekly services to Lyon, up the three weekly services to Salzburg and one weekly service to Grenoble. Jet2, which commenced its operations from Stansted earlier this year, has already announced an expanded summer programme for 2018, the report noted.
Commenting on the move, Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and sister company Jet2holidays, reportedly said: ‘We are delighted to be launching ski flights from London Stansted Airport for the first time, offering customers the chance to reach the best slopes in Europe on our award-winning airline.
‘The launch of the first ever ski flights by Jet2.com from London Stansted to four exciting and popular destinations is fantastic news for winter sports enthusiasts from right across the East of England and London. I’m sure they will prove to be just as popular as the very successful summer 2017 flight programme as more and more skiers get the chance to hit the slopes from their local airport,’ Heapy said, adding: ‘With friendly flight times on a weekend, alongside 22kg of baggage and ski allowance, we’re confident of very busy and popular ski flights from London Stansted Airport this winter.’
In addition to the London Stansted ski carriage offer, Jet2.com is also offering half price return ski carriage from all nine of its UK bases. Starting September 19, 2017, Jet2 offers half price ski carriage on flights to Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Turin and Lyon.
The promotional price applies for a new booking between September 19, 2017 and October 12, 2017. The service will be available for travel between November 30, 2017 and 30th April 2018 on any of the above routes.
