Jet2holidays announces extended summer season in Menorca

Following the announcement of extended summer seasons in Ibiza, Jet2holidays has also announced additional flights to the Balearic Island destination of Menorca between September and November this year, with additional services from five UK bases.

The extra services have been introduced after increased demand from holidaymakers for Menorca’s stunning natural beauty, secret beaches, and historic architecture beyond the main summer holiday season. The extra flight services are from Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle airports.

For this extended season, Jet2holidays has record number of 2-5 star hotels on sale on the island, and also offers the freedom of a villa with all the benefits of a package holiday through Jet2Villas. This along the scenic coastline and resorts such as Cala Galdana, Son Bou, Cala’n Bosch and Punta Prima, will offer customers more choice and flexibility with their summer holiday plans. Bookings can be made online at www.jet2.com or www.jet2holidays.com.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: ‘We are working with our partners in Menorca to fill hotels, not just in the busy summer season, but in shoulder seasons too. Our award-winning flights and holidays mean we are attracting more and more customers, and we will continue to stick to these principles so that we can continue flying happy holidaymakers to Menorca on a package holiday they can trust.’

Maite Salord, Councillor of Tourist Promotion of Menorca said: ‘Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ decision to increase its commitment to Menorca by increasing the number of seats on sale in the months of September, October and November is very good news indeed. The company demonstrates its confidence and commitment to the destination whilst aligning strategies with Menorca Tourism Development Foundation. Our aim is to extend the tourist season, and we hope to continue working closely with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in order to strengthen the link between Menorca and the UK.’
