UK regional airline LinksAir has announced a new Norwich service from Cardiff Airport, starting April.

This new air-link is expected to offer significant time and cost savings on the cross-country journey for frequent travellers. The new service will depart Cardiff Airport, South Wales at 10:20 AM each morning, arriving at Norwich Airport at 11:25 AM, saving over four-hours on existing rail or road journey times. The return service is scheduled at 2:20 PM (1.20 PM on a Friday).

Effective from April, LinksAir, which operates the North-South Wales air-link between Cardiff and Anglesey, will commence the new Cardiff-Norwich daily service on weekdays, with air fares from £59.00 one-way including all taxes and charges.

Spencer Birns, Aviation and Business Development Director, Cardiff Airport said: ‘It is great to see LinksAir adding new routes from Cardiff and taking advantage of the opportunity to connect Wales even further. Norfolk and the East Anglian region will appeal to both business and leisure customers as well as bring visitors in to Wales.’

Norwich Airport Chief Executive Andrew Bell commented: ‘The introduction of the Cardiff route and the new onward connection to Anglesey is another positive step in the airport’s strategy to deliver regional connectivity to both leisure and business travellers as it will not only benefit those working within the energy sector but other industries and those wishing to travel to visit friends and relatives in Wales.’

The new Norwich link will also be available from and to Anglesey via Cardiff connecting Anglesey and North-Wales to the East Anglian region – one of the UK’s busiest regions in the energy sector.

LinksAir Commercial Manager, Roger Hage, added: ‘We are committed at LinksAir to growing the accessibility to both North and South Wales and the UK regions so are delighted to add this new link to our growing network for Wales. With the combination of affordable fares, flexibility in booking and quality service we expect this route to be popular for business and leisure alike to complement our new twice-daily weekday Cardiff-Anglesey service alongside our other charter and contract flying commitments as a growing regional airline.’

A special ‘launch’ fare of £99 return including a free bag each-way is on offer until February 13, for travel between April 20 and October 31, 2015.
