Loganair Offers New and Expanded Services from Glasgow Airport

Loganair, a Scotland-based airline, is launching its new Sunday service between Glasgow Airport in Scotland and Leeds Bradford Airport in Yorkshire, UK. The airline was previously only offering a service from Glasgow to Leeds Bradford airport twice a week.

The Sunday service is being operated in the evening and will use a 34-seat Saab 340 aircraft, with airfares for the route commencing at £59.99 one way.

Phil Preston, the airline chief operating officer, said, ‘We are delighted to be able to add an additional Sunday service on the Glasgow to Leeds Bradford route.

We have been really impressed with our passenger numbers since we took over the original weekday services earlier this year, and decided to introduce the additional Sunday flights to offer both our business and leisure users even greater connectivity from two of Britain’s most popular gateway destinations.’

Amanda McMillan, the managing director of Glasgow Airport, said, ‘This is great news from Loganair as there is undoubtedly demand for more than just midweek flights between the two airports.

Glasgow and Leeds may be two of the biggest financial centres in the UK, but both areas are also popular with tourists so the addition of weekend capacity on the route is very welcome.’

Loganair has also previously announced the expansion of its service from Glasgow Airport to Shetland, during the school holiday period in October. The airline is offering a total of six extra flights on the route during the two-week school holiday period, commencing from October 12, 2012.
