Ryanair, the Irish low fares airline, has announced an expansion to its Liverpool winter 2016 schedule with the addition of a new route to Marrakesh, which will operate twice weekly from October.

This is in addition to a new route to Sofia announced earlier. Ryanair’s Liverpool winter 2016 schedule will now deliver two new routes to Sofia and Marrakesh, both twice weekly, and five new winter services, including twice weekly services to Bergerac, Pisa, Porto, Szczecin and a weekly flight to Gran Canaria. The airline will also operate more flights to Alicante (five weekly) and Malaga (four weekly).

With the expansion move, the airline will operate 25 winter routes in total, with 95 weekly flights, which will help deliver 1.9m customers per annum.

Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Robin Kiely said: ‘We are pleased to extend our Liverpool winter 2016 schedule with a new route to Marrakesh, which will operate twice weekly from 31st October and our 25 winter routes will help deliver 1.9 million customers this year and support 1,400 ‘on-site’ jobs at Liverpool Airport.

Seats on our new route to Marrakesh are on sale now from just £24.99 and are available for booking until Monday (1 Aug) for travel in November. Since these amazing low prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.’

Liverpool Airport’s Robin Tudor added, ‘We are delighted to welcome this further expansion of Ryanair’s network at Liverpool Airport with more flights on some of our key routes, and the addition of another new destination.

This growth reaffirms the Airports commitment to expanding international connections for the Region, providing more choice to the travelling public, not only in the City of Liverpool but from across the North West and North Wales; whilst also delivering a ‘faster, easier and friendlier’ journey through the Airport.’

In addition to the 25 routes in winter 2016, Liverpool customers and visitors will also benefit from further improvements under Ryanair’s ‘Always Getting Better’ programme, including more new routes, new digital features, new cabin interiors and even more low fares, the airline said.
