Brittany Ferries offers 20 per cent discount on early holiday bookings for 2017

Brittany Ferries, the passenger car and freight service linking four countries: UK – France, UK – Spain and Ireland – France, has announced a 20 per cent discount on all of its sail-and-stay gite, cottage and casa holidays for customers who book before October 25, 2016.

Holidaymakers are offered a choice of accommodation in some of the most attractive areas of France and Spain. Brittany Ferries sails directly to these locations from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth.

‘The offer promises big savings for customers and Brittany Ferries remains one of the few operators to take a modest £40 per person deposit to secure the holiday,’ said Christiane Barker, Brittany Ferries general manager holidays. ‘The balance is payable six weeks before departure, and this helps spread the cost of holidays for families into 2017 as we head towards the Christmas period.’

Launched last week, the offer is available for breaks throughout the year, including Easter, spring half-term break and the school summer holidays. This year, the company has seen particularly strong demand for accommodation in the Finistere region of Brittany.

‘Properties in Southern Brittany are current hot spots and many bookings are from customers who stay year after year,’ Barker added. ‘This isn’t really surprising of course. Once you’ve experienced the beauty of Southern Brittany and have seen how accessible it is from our ports of arrival like Roscoff and St Malo, it’s hard not to keep coming back.’

The popular properties in Finistere, with some availability for next summer, include Pont Kereon, Bannalec; Lechiagat, Treffiagat, near Pont l’Abbe and Neulliac, near Pontivy, the company said. Pont Kereon boasts single-storey, terraced cottages with capacity for four people. Bannalec is within walking distance and has a range of bars, restaurants and shops with sandy beaches. Holidaymakers booking by October 25 can save up to £139.00 on ferry-inclusive prices, from £533.00 in low season to £698.00 in high season, before discount.

Located only 500m from the local shops and a sandy beach, Lechiagat is also near the busy fishing port of Guilvinec. This popular holiday spot features scenic beaches and family seaside resorts like Benodet. Those booking by October 25 can save up to £245.00 on ferry-inclusive prices, from £874.00 in low season to £1229.00 in high season, before discount.

Neulliac has a shared swimming pool with extensive grounds and direct access to the river Blavet and the Nantes-Brest canal. Ideal for walks, cycling and fishing, Pontivy is an attractive market town complete with 15th century chateau. Holidaymakers booking by October can save up to £197.00 on ferry inclusive prices from £504.00 in low season to £986.00 in high season, also before discount, the company noted.
