With the new route, over 5,000 seats are on sale to La Rochelle for Summer 2018 from Leeds Bradford. Flights will operate every Saturday afternoon until the end of September.
With its range of seafood restaurants, the city of La Rochelle is popular with holidaymakers. La Rochelle, with the walled old town at the heart of the city, provides access via bridge to Il de Re, an Atlantic-coast island of dunes and pine forestry.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: ‘La Rochelle is a destination that is rapidly growing in popularity with Britons, so we are delighted to launch this new route from Leeds Bradford Airport. With weekly flights operating at great times throughout the summer on our award-winning airline, we are looking forward to a very successful programme. As demand to La Rochelle increases, we will be going even bigger and better next summer, with the launch of a second route to La Rochelle from Manchester.’
Thomas Juin, Airport Manager said, ‘We are delighted with the arrival of the company Jet2.com at La Rochelle – Ile de Re airport. Our destination, already very appreciated by English people, is now accessible from the Leeds region in less than two hours thanks to the launch of this route. People will enjoy the sandy beaches of Ile de Re, walks, bike rides or a drink on the terraces of the old harbour of La Rochelle.’
The airline has also announced a second new route from Manchester Airport for Summer 2019. The addition of weekly Saturday flights between May and September will offer nearly 7,000 seats between La Rochelle and Manchester Airport for Summer 2019. The flights from Manchester will provide direct access to the harbour port from two UK bases next summer, and will more than double seat capacity, Jet2 said.
