Blue Islands, the Channel Islands’ regional airline, has said that it is planning to re-introduce regular flights from Birmingham to Jersey, a destination popular for short-stay breaks or long weekends.
A picturesque Island with French influence, Jersey features attractive bays and pristine beaches. It boasts watersports, varied walks from heritage trails to country ambles, heritage attractions and locally-sourced cuisine and seafood.
Rob Veron, Blue Islands CEO, said, ‘We are very pleased to reinstate the very popular route from Birmingham. The flights will initially operate four days a week, and for next summer we will increase frequencies with a daily service to Jersey and convenient onward connections to Guernsey.’
Tom Screen, Aviation Director of Birmingham Airport said: ‘Jersey is an important route for the Midlands and we are delighted that Blue Islands now operates direct flights to the island. The route has been unserved for a period of time but we know there is huge demand for this service from our customers to access the Channel Islands.’
Blue Islands is working with Visit Jersey to promote late summer/autumn breaks to Jersey. Flights from £49.99 one way are still available this September and October.
