Jet2.com has said that it will commence flights and holidays to Lisbon from September, with services operating from Manchester and Birmingham Airports.

Lisbon is a popular tourist spot for its cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white domed cathedrals, among other attractions. The holiday resorts of Cascais, Estoril and Sintra are all easily accessible from Lisbon for a relaxing break by the coast, or just a day trip away from the city.

Cascais is a traditional Portuguese fishing town with a trio of golden bays, while the town of Estoril on the Portuguese Riviera is known for its glitzy casino and palm-fringed landscaped gardens.

For customers looking for a getaway in late-Summer or Autumn, Jet2 will operate Monday and Friday services from September 3 to October 29 from Manchester Airport. From September 30 to October 28, Thursday and Sunday services will operate from Birmingham Airport.

For Winter 21/22, The company will operate Monday and Friday services from Birmingham Airport, running from November 1 to March 25, 202. The Thursday and Sunday services will be available from November 4 to March 14, 2022 from Manchester Airport.

Lisbon is also on sale for Summer 22 and into Autumn 22. Twice-weekly services are available from Birmingham Airport from March 28 to November 11, 2022, and from Manchester Airport from March 27 to November 13, 2022.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: ‘Feedback from customers and independent travel agents is telling us that holidaymakers are wanting to plan and book future getaways this year. The start of flights, holidays and city breaks from Manchester and Birmingham Airports to the new destination of Lisbon is an example of how we are meeting that demand and giving customers even more choice when it comes to their next getaway.

‘Lisbon is a stunning capital offering the best of both worlds, whether it is exploring the charismatic and vibrant city, or heading to one of its many coastal resorts. With multiple weekly flights available for late-Summer, Autumn and throughout Winter 21/22 and Summer 22, it gives customers and independent travel agents all the flexibility to suit their budgets and needs. This combined with our VIP customer service, means we’re sure that Lisbon and its surrounding coastal resorts will prove extremely popular with holidaymakers who are looking to book ahead and give themselves something to look forward to.’
