October 2024 ushers in a wave of new hospitality openings across the UK.

    • The Great Bustard combines farm-to-table dining with luxurious accommodations in Wiltshire.
    • London sees a surge in unique dining experiences, from bagels to Indian cuisine.
    • Hyatt debuts its first UK Park Hyatt hotel in the vibrant Nine Elms area.
    • Adventurous new menus and renovated spaces redefine dining in the UK.

October proves to be a bustling month for the UK’s hospitality scene with a notable collection of openings. The Great Bustard in Wiltshire emerges as a key highlight, offering a blend of farm-to-table gastronomy with plush rooms and spa services. Head chef Jordan Taylor crafts menus using produce from the Great Durnford Estate, providing guests with an authentic taste of the region paired with exclusive wines like the Otarda red from Tuscany.

In London, diverse culinary ventures are making waves. Chef Alice Norman has transformed her Suffolk-based bakery into a café at Maple Farm, expanding her offerings and planning special dining evenings. Meanwhile, the Tamil Prince’s team enriches the city’s gastronomic landscape with their new restaurant Tamila, featuring South Indian staples such as dosas and masala poori. Buster’s, a burger bar in Brixton by Matt Harris and Tommy Kempton, introduces an innovative take on the classic burger using premium wagyu beef patties.

Hyatt’s entry into the UK market with the Park Hyatt in Nine Elms brings a touch of luxury to London. This establishment includes an impressive line-up of amenities, from a state-of-the-art spa to a selection of fine dining options. The presence of this international brand marks a significant moment for the city’s accommodation offerings.

Social media-famous venues are further enhancing London’s vibrant scene. Dan Martensen continues his expansion with It’s Bagels in Soho, known for its eclectic bagel-based creations. Below Stone Nest, a dive bar curated by Frank and Jackson Boxer, is set to reopen beneath a renowned arts organisation in Soho, offering a blend of highball-focused drinks and snacks.

A plethora of new pub experiences are also on offer. Young’s expansion with the Teller’s Arms in Surrey sees the conversion of a former bank into a substantial pub with boutique accommodations. Similarly, the Polygon Public House adds its second gastropub, The Ox, with a menu led by head chef Darren Everts. Furthermore, the historic Mason’s Arms inn in the Cotswolds is set to welcome guests to its charming 16th-century setting, complete with traditional fare.

October 2024 establishes the UK as a dynamic hub for culinary and hospitality innovation, offering diverse experiences for every traveller.
