    SPAA Celebrates Excellence with 2024 Sparkle Awards

    The Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) has once again acknowledged the outstanding contributions of travel agents across Scotland with the 2024 Sparkle Awards. The prestigious event was held at The Caledonian in Edinburgh on September 6, spotlighting exceptional service and dedication within the industry.

    Honouring a total of 12 winners, the awards highlighted exemplary performance in various categories including leisure, cruise, and corporate travel. Each winner has been recognised for their significant role in shaping the future of travel, setting a benchmark for quality and commitment.

    The SPAA’s Sparkle Awards spotlighted the excellence of frontline agents who have demonstrated remarkable achievements in the evolving travel landscape. Top honours were awarded to Fraser Hopkins of Barrhead Travel, crowned as Leisure Travel Manager of the Year, and Elise Sanderson from John Stewart Travel, who was named Leisure Consultant of the Year. These accolades are a testament to their unwavering commitment and outstanding service.

    Furthermore, Jennifer Doak from Clyde Travel Management was honoured as Corporate Travel Manager of the Year, highlighting her leadership in managing corporate travel demands. Leanne Weir of Barrhead Travel received the Agency Support Award, representing the behind-the-scenes excellence that supports client-facing roles.

    This thorough process ensures that only the most deserving individuals are recognised, reinforcing the awards’ credibility and prestige.

    She emphasized the association’s pride in acknowledging the efforts of these agents, stating that the awards highlight the dedication and expertise that professionals bring to the travel industry.

    Stuart Clark from ATPI was honoured as the Rising Star of the Year, highlighting his potential and contributions to the sector.
