Indus Experiences, an operator specialising in Central and South-East Asia, has rejoined the Association of Independent Tour Operators (Aito) with plans to bolster ties with specialist travel agents.

    • The company marks its 30th anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to the UK travel trade.
    • A family-run business, Indus covers a wide range of destinations and offers unique travel experiences.
    • Emphasis is placed on sustainable tourism, aligning with Aito’s quality charter.
    • The partnership aims to enhance agents’ knowledge and skills, particularly for newcomers.

Indus Experiences, renowned for its specialisation in Central and South-East Asian travel, has taken the strategic step of rejoining the Association of Independent Tour Operators (Aito). This move underscores the company’s commitment to building robust relationships with specialist travel agents across the UK.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Indus Experiences is reaffirming its dedication to the UK travel trade. The family-run business, which was previously an Aito member between 2008 and 2013, offers a diverse portfolio that includes destinations like India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indochina, Oman, and Uzbekistan.

The company’s offerings—spanning river cruises, rail journeys, and small group tours—are crafted with a focus on sustainability and community support. Marketing Director Asiya Zargar expressed delight in strengthening ties with Aito, emphasising the shared commitment to the highest industry standards.

Zargar stated, “We are especially looking forward to working more closely with Aito specialist travel agents, taking part in Aito events, and sharing our passion for tailor-made travel in Asia.” As the company advances into its next chapter, it continues to grow and diversify its product offerings.

Furthermore, Zargar highlighted the post-pandemic shift in the travel industry, noting an influx of enthusiastic newcomers eager to enter the scene. She remarked on the perfect timing for tapping into this enthusiasm to support and enhance their destination knowledge and skills.

To this end, Indus has launched a training programme via the online travel training platform, reporting over 130 course completions in recent months. This initiative is part of a broader array of trade support measures being undertaken by the company.

Aito Executive Director, Martyn Sumners, welcomed Indus Experiences back to Aito, praising their commitment to sustainability and quality. Sumners remarked, “Their commitment to sustainability and quality aligns with Aito’s mission, and we believe their expertise will greatly benefit our specialist travel agents and enhance the travel experiences they offer to travellers.”

Indus Experiences’ return to Aito signifies a strengthened commitment to quality, sustainability, and the enhancement of travel agent expertise.
