Carnival Cruise Line expands its fleet with Costa Firenze from Costa Cruises.

    • Built in 2021, the ship boasts a capacity of 5,260 passengers.
    • The handover took place in Cadiz, Spain, before an upcoming refurbishment.
    • Carnival Firenze will offer diverse itineraries from Long Beach, California.
    • Italian-themed experiences will be featured on board, inspired by sister ship Carnival Venezia.

Carnival Cruise Line has enhanced its operations by integrating Costa Firenze from Costa Cruises, marking the fleet’s expansion to 27 ships. This strategic move showcases Carnival’s commitment to providing diverse cruising experiences.

Constructed in 2021, Costa Firenze is a modern vessel capable of accommodating up to 5,260 passengers. Its design and features reflect advanced maritime architecture tailored for contemporary cruising demands.

The transfer of Costa Firenze was conducted in Cadiz, Spain, setting the stage for a significant refurbishment period lasting two months. This revitalisation aims to refine the vessel’s amenities and align it with Carnival’s brand standards.

Starting April 25, Carnival Firenze is set to embark on year-round voyages from Long Beach, California. The itineraries will combine shorter three and four-day trips to Mexico and Catalina Island, along with extended five to seven-day excursions to the Mexican Riviera, featuring popular destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.

Passengers aboard Carnival Firenze will enjoy rich Italian-themed experiences, with influences reminiscent of its sister ship, Carnival Venezia. The ship’s atrium draws inspiration from Florence’s iconic Piazza del Duomo, while the lido deck evokes the charm of the Italian Riviera. These elements are complemented by a variety of Italian-themed dining and beverage options.

According to Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy, “The beauty of Florence, Italy is about to meet the fun of Carnival Cruise Line.” This statement underlines the unique blending of cultural motifs with the line’s renowned festive atmosphere.

The addition of Carnival Firenze signifies a pivotal enhancement in Carnival’s offering, blending Italian elegance with its signature fun-filled cruising experience.
