Mexico will soon host Royal Caribbean’s latest venture, enhancing the allure of the Caribbean with an innovative private beach club.

    • Set to open in 2026, the Royal Beach Club Cozumel will feature numerous attractions, offering diverse experiences from leisure to cultural activities.
    • The announcement complements previous developments, as the cruise line continually expands its destination offerings in response to global demand.
    • Collaboration with Mexican authorities underscores a commitment to sustainable tourism and local job creation.
    • The project’s announcement has been met with enthusiasm from both the cruise line and Mexican officials, reflecting a strong partnership.

Mexico is preparing to welcome Royal Caribbean International’s newest initiative—a private beach club on the island of Cozumel. This addition aims to further bolster the attractiveness of the Caribbean destination, which is already a favourite among travellers.

The Royal Beach Club Cozumel is anticipated to open in 2026, promising an array of features such as swim-up bars, pools, private cabanas, and recreational activities like snorkelling and kayaking. Dining options will include a restaurant and a bar, complemented by a local street market, tequila tastings, and cooking classes—offering a blend of relaxation and cultural immersion.

This ambitious project is part of Royal Caribbean’s broader strategy to expand its destination offerings, highlighted by the 2019 launch of Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. As Royal Caribbean Group’s CEO Jason Liberty remarked, the expansion aligns with the rising demand for unique vacation experiences that allow for cultural connections.

Michael Bayley, Royal Caribbean International’s President, expressed the ongoing anticipation surrounding the company’s destination projects. He noted that the addition in Cozumel is designed to harmonise the island’s offerings with Royal Caribbean’s distinctive amenities, promising something for every type of visitor.

The collaboration with local authorities, as noted by Quintana Roo’s governor Mara Lezama, emphasises the commitment to creating sustainable infrastructure while boosting employment opportunities. Her administration is dedicated to ensuring that such developments benefit both the local community and the broader regional economy.

This strategic collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing Caribbean tourism, promising valuable experiences and economic benefits.
