    • Destination Sport will collaborate on the project, leveraging global sports fixtures.
    • Jeffries’ extensive experience will steer the venture towards market leadership.
    • The move highlights the increasing synergy between travel and sports industries.

Simon Jeffries, with almost three decades of experience in the travel industry, has been confirmed as the director for the new sports travel division at Elegant Resorts. His career, marked by significant roles in product and commercial sectors, began as a contracts manager for Cresta Holidays and later included a lengthy tenure at Travel Counsellors, where he was instrumental in developing their in-house tour operations. Prior to this new appointment, he spent seven years at Carrier.

Elegant Resorts sees this as a chance to establish themselves as leaders in luxury sports travel. Lisa Fitzell, Managing Director, expressed confidence in this direction, stating that the combined expertise with Destination Sport will lead to unparalleled sports holidays. She remarked, “We see a real opportunity for Elegant Resorts to develop the best luxury sports travel company.”

Jeffries commented on his new role with enthusiasm, citing personal passion as a driving force. He stated, “The role combines my personal passion for sport and luxury travel, and I am excited to start working with colleagues across the group to deliver a market-leading luxury sports travel business.” This ambitious project reflects the broader trend of integrating sports fixtures into the luxury travel segment.
