    Fred Holidays Increases Rail Options Amid Sales Boost

    Fred Holidays has reported a notable expansion in its rail offerings, showcasing a robust growth trajectory.

    • The company has integrated new journeys across the UK and Ireland, fuelled by a significant 32% rise in rail sales.
    • Enhanced options now include luxury travel experiences featuring steam, sleeper, and scenic train routes.
    • Fred Holidays has witnessed a remarkable upswing in high-value bookings, with 30% exceeding £5,000.
    • The forthcoming 2025 tours will introduce thrilling ventures such as La Dolce Vita Orient Express.

    Fred Holidays has announced a strategic expansion of its rail offerings to include new routes across the UK and Ireland. This development comes in the wake of achieving a notable 32% increase in year-on-year rail sales. With bookings up by 15% and trade engagement seeing a 16% rise, the company is clearly on a growth trajectory.

    The addition of luxury travel options such as steam and sleeper trains, as well as worldwide itineraries including destinations like Japan, has been a key highlight of this expansion. Sporting events and rail & sail holidays are now part of the enhanced offerings set for 2025, displaying forward-thinking planning by the operator.

    A significant portion of Fred Holidays’ bookings is of high-value, with 40% of rail holiday bookings exceeding £4,000. Notably, 30% of bookings are valued at over £5,000, with the most expensive individual booking this year reaching £47,000 for two people. This trend reflects a growing interest in premium travel experiences.

    The Bernina Express continues to be the most popular choice among travellers, enjoying a 50% increase compared to last year, followed by the Glacier Express. Additionally, new luxury offerings such as the La Dolce Vita Orient Express in Italy and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express have attracted increased attention, indicating a strong demand for exclusive travel experiences.

    Looking ahead to 2025, Fred Holidays will feature unique packages that combine journeys on both the La Dolce Vita Orient Express and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, alongside partnerships with luxury cruise lines. These comprehensive travel experiences intertwine rail and cruise travel, providing diverse and opulent holiday options.

    Fred Holidays’ expansion reflects a growing demand for premium rail travel experiences, bolstered by significant sales growth.
