Running from September 24 to 29, the summit will feature the Change Makers event, culminating in a celebration on World Tourism Day. The Change Makers initiative urges agents to contribute to changing lives through travel by booking specific trips.
Bruce Poon Tip, the founder of G Adventures and Planeterra, expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the GX Summit, noting the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the previous year. He highlighted the summit’s role in showcasing community tourism’s potential to make a meaningful difference.
India, chosen for its vibrant culture and tourism potential, will play host to this year’s event. Poon Tip described India as an “electrifying location” that needs tourism support to bounce back post-pandemic. This summit aims to foster more community tourism projects that can distribute wealth more equitably.
Participants will embark on a six-day journey through India, including visits to Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. On September 27, World Community Tourism Day, the event will host dialogues on how community tourism can positively transform lives through various expert speakers.
The GX Summit’s return underscores the pivotal role of community tourism in revitalising destinations and enriching travel experiences.
