    The Globe Travel Awards 2024 celebrated remarkable achievements in the travel industry, recognising individuals and organisations that have excelled in various areas.

    • Dame Irene Hays was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award, dedicating her contribution to the entire travel industry.
    • Matt Nixon was honoured with the Unsung Hero Award for his work in mental health and wellbeing.
    • The Travel Corporation received the Sustainable Future Award, reinforcing their commitment to reaching Net Zero by 2050.
    • Ocean Holidays received the inaugural Travel for All award, celebrating their efforts in making holidays accessible for everyone.

    Dame Irene Hays was celebrated at the Globe Travel Awards 2024 for her outstanding contributions to the travel industry. She dedicated her award to the entire sector, expressing her passion for fostering youth development. Her recognition underlines a profound commitment to both business and public service, echoing the legacy of her late husband, John.

    Matt Nixon of 52 Degrees North Travel was awarded the Unsung Hero Award. His inspiring journey through personal challenges has been instrumental in advocating for mental health and wellbeing. His initiatives include writing a book and embarking on physical challenges to support the charity Mind, marking his dedication as truly exemplary.

    The Travel Corporation was named the winner of the Sustainable Future Award, reinforcing their role as a leader in sustainability. Kelly Jackson, managing director for the region, affirmed their dedication to achieving Net Zero by 2050, with over 40 brands under their umbrella actively working towards this goal.

    Ocean Holidays was recognised with the first-ever Travel for All Award, an honour celebrating their unwavering commitment to making travel accessible to all. Co-CEO Harry Hastings highlighted this achievement as a testament to the hard work put into their inclusive culture, especially significant as it coincides with their 20th anniversary.

    Kuoni was awarded the Employer of the Year, an accolade reflecting their excellent work environment. Their managing director, Mark Duguid, expressed surprise yet satisfaction at the win, attributing it to constantly prioritising their employees’ welfare. An internal survey revealed that 97% of staff are proud to be part of Kuoni, demonstrating the company’s strong commitment to its workforce.

    The Globe Travel Awards 2024 recognised exceptional contributions across the industry, honouring those who strive towards inclusivity, sustainability, and excellence.
