    • Three accommodation levels in the Sanctuary Collection provide premium options for discerning passengers.

    • Hannah Waddingham’s appointment as godmother highlights her deep nautical connections and global admiration.

Princess Cruises has revealed an innovative ‘all-inclusive ship-within-a-ship’ model, promising an enhanced luxury experience for passengers. The concept, part of the new Sun Princess ship named by Hannah Waddingham, includes exclusive access to top-deck retreat areas and bespoke events. The Sun Princess, with a passenger capacity of 4,300, will feature the Sanctuary Collection starting from October, and on the Star Princess next year. Passengers opting for this collection will enjoy access to exclusive areas and premium high-end amenities.

The Sanctuary Collection offers three distinct accommodation levels: Signature Collection Suites, Mini Suites, and Premium Deluxe Balconies. This range of options aims to cater to passengers seeking privacy and an indulgent experience, rivaling high-end resorts while surpassing other cruise lines’ offerings. The cabins will be available for the Sun Princess’s maiden voyage on October 14, expanding to the Star Princess from October 4, 2025.

John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises, emphasized that the Sanctuary Collection offers ultra-private spaces and spacious accommodations, alongside an array of premium extras. His statement underscored that these offerings surpass those of comparable cruise lines with similar amenities, delivering an unparalleled travel experience.

Despite a delay in the delivery of the Star Princess from July to sail in the Mediterranean by September 2025, the ship is anticipated to operate its inaugural full summer session in Alaska in 2026. Similarly, the Sun Princess’s initial season start was postponed to February 28, with plans to reposition to Fort Lauderdale for its first Caribbean tours in October.

Hannah Waddingham, noted for her role in ‘Ted Lasso,’ serves as the ship’s godmother, reflecting her personal and familial ties to nautical traditions. Her grandfather’s service in the Royal Navy and her own boating experiences underscore her suitability for this role. During the naming ceremony in Barcelona, she expressed her privilege in being chosen to represent such a significant vessel, a sentiment echoed by Princess Cruises President John Padgett.

The Sun Princess introduces an innovative approach to luxury cruising with its Sanctuary Collection, promising passengers an unrivalled travel experience.
