Queen Anne, the newest addition to Cunard’s luxury fleet, embarked on its maiden voyage from Southampton, making it a landmark event for the cruise line. The atmospheric departure was highlighted by a spectacular firework display as thousands gathered to witness the momentous occasion. The voyage signifies the continuation of Cunard’s legacy in delivering refined ocean travel experiences.

This inaugural seven-night voyage includes captivating visits to Lisbon and La Coruna. Passengers aboard the 113,000-ton vessel can anticipate not only these exciting destinations but also a series of onboard festivities. A standout event includes a special maiden gala evening, graced by a performance from the renowned tenor, Russell Watson, adding a touch of cultural sophistication to the journey.

Following the initial voyage, Queen Anne will set off on a more extended 14-night cruise to the picturesque Canary Islands. This cruise is a prelude to the ship’s official naming ceremony, scheduled to take place in Liverpool. The ceremony is part of a wider round-Britain itinerary, underscoring Cunard’s commitment to integrating iconic British landmarks into its voyages.

Cunard’s president, Katie McAlister, expressed the significance of this occasion, saying, “Queen Anne’s maiden voyage signals the dawning of a new era in luxury ocean travel and her historic sailaway from Southampton was a very special moment for everyone connected with Cunard.” The introduction of Queen Anne complements the current fleet, uniting with Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria, to form a prestigious lineup.
