Adapting to changing geopolitical climates, Holland America Line has amended its 2026 world cruise itinerary, bypassing the Red Sea.

    • The voyage will now cover 51 ports across 23 countries, enhancing the Asian segment with a dozen new ports.
    • Consultation with global security experts led to these itinerary changes, ensuring passenger safety on this epic journey.
    • The full voyage will extend to 133 days, maintaining its conclusion in Fort Lauderdale on May 17, 2026.
    • Passagers can anticipate enriched cultural experiences, particularly in Asia, with new stops in places like Halong Bay and Hong Kong.

In a move prompted by political instability, Holland America Line has opted to modify its 2026 world cruise itinerary, steering clear of the Red Sea. The adjustment will see the voyage extend from 132 to 133 days, with an additional day accounted for by crossing the International Dateline. This decision underscores the company’s commitment to passenger safety, drawing on advice from international security experts.

The newly revised itinerary will feature visits to 51 ports located across 23 countries and territories, spanning five continents. A significant highlight of these changes is the increased focus on Asia, where a dozen new ports have been added. Passengers on this voyage will experience the rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and cuisines that this vast continent offers, from the emerald waters of Halong Bay to vibrant city life in Hong Kong.

Beth Bodensteiner, Chief Commercial Officer, emphasised the allure of these immersive experiences, stating, “We know immersive experiences in exciting destinations are always a main draw for those choosing a world cruise.” Passengers will have the opportunity to dive deep into the local cultures and natural beauty of Asia, with extended stays in locations such as Nagasaki and Tokyo providing ample time for exploration.

This itinerary promises to deliver a journey filled with diverse cultural encounters and picturesque landscapes, allowing guests to engage with environments that resonate on both historical and contemporary levels.

Holland America’s 2026 world cruise offers an expansive exploration of global cultures and landscapes, prioritising safety and enriching experiences.
