The Tui Care Foundation has launched a significant fundraising appeal following catastrophic floods in Spain, where the tragic death toll has reached at least 217. The severe weather conditions hit the Valencia area hardest, delivering an astonishing volume of rain—equivalent to a year’s worth—in only eight hours.

This catastrophic event has prompted the foundation to pledge that it will match every donation made to the appeal. This approach underscores the organisation’s dedication to providing substantial support to the stricken regions.

The primary goal of the fundraising effort is to offer essential, long-term support to those affected by the deadliest flooding Spain has witnessed in decades. This assistance is crucial for the affected communities, aiming to equip them with the necessary resources to rebuild and overcome the challenges posed by this natural disaster.

Executive Director Alexander Panczuk commented on the situation, saying, ‘The flash floods in Spain have had a devastating impact on local communities, resulting in tragic losses and damage.’ He emphasised that the fundraising appeal is designed to ensure affected areas receive the resources needed for effective recovery and rebuilding.
