Uniworld has confirmed the name of a new river ship joining its fleet in 2026 as ‘Emilie’.

    • The ship draws inspiration from the work of renowned Austrian painter Gustav Klimt.
    • Emilie will complement recent additions to the Uniworld fleet, marking growth in European river cruising.
    • The announcement underscores Uniworld’s commitment to luxury and excellence in river travel.
    • Emilie’s introduction aligns with Uniworld’s 50th anniversary celebrations, promising exceptional service.

Uniworld has officially announced that its latest European river ship, set to sail in 2026, will be named Emilie. The naming pays homage to Emilie Flöge, the life partner of the famed Austrian painter Gustav Klimt, from whom the new vessel’s design draws inspiration.

The addition of Emilie reflects Uniworld’s ongoing expansion in the European river cruise market. This new ship joins a series of recent introductions, including Victoria, which is navigating the Rhine and Moselle rivers, and Elisabeth, expected to launch on the Rhine in 2025.

According to Uniworld’s President and CEO, Ellen Bettridge, the launch of Emilie is poised to coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary. Bettridge remarked, “We’re thrilled to introduce a brand new ship to our fleet in 2026, just in time to celebrate Uniworld’s 50th anniversary. Our commitment to excellence is unwavering.” She further emphasised that Emilie exemplifies their dedication to offering the most luxurious river cruise experiences.

Uniworld’s strategy includes not just expanding the fleet but also elevating the quality of its offerings. Bettridge highlighted, “This outstanding new vessel reaffirms our dedication to providing the best and most luxurious ships on the rivers.” This reiterates Uniworld’s strategy to set industry standards in luxury and guest service.

Since 2020, Uniworld has added five new ships to its fleet, showcasing a robust growth trajectory. These include the Mekong Jewel in Vietnam and Cambodia, the Aria Amazon in Peru, São Gabriel in Portugal, La Venezia in the Venetian Lagoon, and the Sphinx on the Nile.

Details on Emilie’s specific itineraries and features will be released in due course, as Uniworld continues to position itself as a leader in bespoke river cruising experiences.

Uniworld’s introduction of the Emilie highlights its strategic growth and enduring commitment to luxury in river cruising.
