Windstar Cruises is set to significantly enhance its fleet and market presence with the introduction of two innovative all-suite yachts.

    • The new ships, Star Seeker and Star Explorer, will boost the fleet’s capacity and cater to an increasing demand for luxurious cruising experiences.
    • Equipped with ice-strengthened hulls, these ships will unlock new destinations, enhancing Windstar’s geographic reach.
    • The vessels feature advanced environmental technologies, underlining Windstar’s commitment to sustainable cruising.
    • The expansion is set to revitalise Windstar’s offerings in French Polynesia with the return of the Wind Star.

Windstar Cruises is gearing up for a phase of remarkable growth with two new-build ships joining its lineup. Known for their luxury operations, Windstar aims to enhance its offerings with these advanced vessels. The company is introducing two 224-passenger all-suite yachts, Star Seeker and Star Explorer, which are under construction with delivery dates set for 2025 and 2026 respectively.

These new ships will expand Windstar’s fleet to eight, offering unique features such as 112 suites with premium amenities. Highlighting their innovative design, the yachts will have ice-strengthened hulls, enabling voyages to a wider array of destinations. Additionally, two owner’s suites on each ship will boast wrap-around balconies, providing expansive views at sea.

Windstar is investing in environmentally friendly technology, outfitting the ships with state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce engines that connect to shore power to lower emissions in ports, alongside advanced wastewater treatment systems. This aligns with the company’s ethos of maintaining a sustainable and responsible cruising experience.

The new ships will facilitate Windstar’s strategic expansion into the French Polynesian market. The return of the four-mast sailing ship, Wind Star, will enhance offerings in Tahiti by 2027, indicating a direct response to the rising demand for premium travel experiences in the region.

Windstar’s strategic expansion promises to reshape its market presence, offering innovative travel experiences and emphasising environmental sustainability.
