easyJet, the UK-based European regional airline, has announced the addition of Loganair flights as part of its ‘Worldwide by easyJet’service, which was launched in September.

With the addition of Loganair flights, easyjet says that customers booking their flights via the easyJet website will easily be able to book onward Loganair flights, such as from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Scotland’s Highlands and Islands, including the Glasgow – Barra link.

‘Worldwide by easyJet’ is claimed to offer partner airlines access to one of the biggest travel websites in Europe. The first global airline connections service by a European low fares airline, ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ also offers stand-alone flights from partner airlines with complementary networks.

Andrew Middleton, Ancillary Revenue director for easyJet, commented: ‘We’re delighted that as of today, the 360 million annual visitors to easyJet.com can now discover more destinations across Scotland through our latest ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ partner, Loganair.’

Jonathan Hinkles, managing director of Loganair, commented: ‘We believe this exciting partnership with easyJet will open up the beautiful Highlands and Islands to a whole new audience and Loganair is looking forward to welcoming them on board.’

Minister for Transport and the Islands, Humza Yousaf, said: ‘This is excellent news for the communities served by Loganair, improving connectivity and making it even easier to access easyJet’s network of onward destinations.

‘Enabling more convenient connections to and from Scotland, and the Highlands and Islands in particular, will benefit both businesses and tourists looking to experience our world famous hospitality. I wish both airlines every success with this new venture.’
