London – during and after the Olympic Games

The whole world is looking on London at the moment. The XXX Olympic Games fascinate people all over the world – whether they are in front of their TVs at home or were lucky enough to get tickets for the Games to watch the participants perform live. The only downside to attending the Games live is that it is a very expensive pleasure. Whereas visitors from the UK may very well either live in London or have relatives or friends there, people from other countries or even continents have to pay a lot more. The costs for flights, hotels, food etc. can easily mount up to thousands of euros, especially since the prices for accommodation have gone through the roof during the Olympic Games.

People who want to travel to London and aren’t interested in the Olympic Games should definitely wait for the Olympic storm to settle. Soon afterwards, everything will be back to normal and prices on everything will drop to their usual level again.

For some, the end of the Games will feel like a big hangover. For tourists, however, the first few weeks after the Games will provide the ideal opportunity of visiting London. Millions of tourists who are presently combining a holiday in London with visiting the Games will have returned and hotels and hostels will be available again. Since it is unlikely they will be fully booked again you will have the chance to save a lot of money, especially if you spend your travel vouchers to get some real bargains.

Not only will the prices on everything fall but also the time periods you have to wait in queues for trains, tourist features like Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey will get shorter. It is also much more likely that you will be able to get coupons and save money on some of the biggest attractions the capital has to offer, like a Thames Cruise or Madame Tussauds.

Also, you will enjoy much more freedom to roam the city since the security measures in parts of the city will be removed. Just be patient for a little longer and enjoy the benefits once the Games have come to an end.
