Irish low fares airline Ryanair has announced its first Israeli flights, with three new routes at Eilat Ovda Airport to Budapest, Kaunas and Krakow set to commence services in November.

Ryanair’s Israeli operations will deliver three new twice-weekly services to Budapest, Kaunas and Krakow and six weekly return flights to/from Eilat Ovda Airport, carrying over 40,000 customers per annum. The flights are on sale on the Ryanair.com website at fares from EUR29.99 for travel in November and December, and are available for booking from today until midnight Friday, July 10.

Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer, David O’Brien said: ‘Ryanair is pleased to announce our entry into the Israeli market from November 2015, our 31st country, with three new Eilat Ovda routes to Budapest, Kaunas and Krakow, which will deliver 40,000 customers annually.’

Ryanair said that it will continue to negotiate with the Israeli authorities over future routes and looks forward to growing Israeli tourism, traffic and jobs.

Separately, Ryanair marked the 30th anniversary of its first flight today, July 8, by launching a special birthday seat sale, with one million seats on sale across its entire network for EUR19.85, available for travel between September and the end of January. These special birthday seats are available for booking on the Ryanair.com website from today until 24.00hrs on Sunday, July 12.

Commenting on the anniversary celebrations, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kenny Jacobs said: ‘Wednesday, 8th July marks the 30th anniversary of Ryanair’s first flight from Waterford to Gatwick and to celebrate and thank our customers, we’re going back to 1985 – with one million seats on sale for just EUR19.85.’

‘Ryanair revolutionised and democratised air travel in Europe and 30 years on, we have grown to become Europe’s biggest airline, carrying 100m people annually, between 30 countries, and saving European customers over EUR11bn every year by choosing Ryanair over high fare competitors. In fact, this EUR19.85 sale will save customers a further EUR125m.

‘The one thing that hasn’t changed is our fares, as we continue to offer Europe’s lowest airfares, with the biggest route network and best service.’
