SunExpress is preparing to introduce new flights from Glasgow to Turkey starting April 2025.

These new routes will enhance connectivity between Glasgow and the popular Turkish destinations of Antalya and Dalaman.

SunExpress, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, is poised to launch flights from Glasgow to two premier Turkish tourist destinations in April 2025. This move marks the airline’s debut at Glasgow Airport, as it plans to operate six flights weekly, targeting the bustling Turkish cities of Antalya and Dalaman.

With the establishment of four weekly flights to Antalya and two to Dalaman, SunExpress is offering increased connectivity for travellers from Glasgow seeking a Turkish getaway. The airline’s booking system is already live, providing passengers with multiple fare options, such as the basic SunEco, which includes at least 20kg of checked baggage. Travellers can easily upgrade to SunClassic and SunPremium for added advantages like extra baggage allowance and inclusive onboard meals.

For Glasgow Airport, these services mark an important step in enhancing its international offerings, providing more options for passengers and potentially attracting more visitors to the region. The introduction of these routes not only benefits holidaymakers but also supports the local economy by increasing travel traffic through the airport.

Tobias Bracht, SunExpress’s head of sales, highlighted Antalya and Dalaman as two of Turkey’s most popular locales. The decision to establish direct flights from Glasgow underscores the airline’s commitment to facilitating easier access to these attractive hubs for holidaymakers across the UK.

Incorporating both leisure and business travel needs, the service expansions align with SunExpress’s vision to offer versatile travel solutions tailored to diverse passenger requirements.

The initiative is poised to position Glasgow as a key European travel hub, enhancing its reputation in the competitive aviation market. Such developments are indicative of broader trends within the industry towards increased international destinations from regional airports.

SunExpress’s entry into Glasgow with new Turkish routes signifies a promising advancement in air travel connectivity for the UK. By extending its network and enhancing passenger experience, the airline not only supports local economic growth but also reinforces its standing within the international aviation sector.

The new Turkish services by SunExpress from Glasgow demonstrate the airline’s commitment to expanding its reach.

This initiative is likely to improve travel options for passengers while stimulating economic growth in both regions.
